Decency rules

Nudity:

Rules for nudity follow the laws for most US states.

Any character may appear nude providing they are not depicted indecently.  This means...

No depicting genetalia.  Period.  Forbidden parts include: penis, scrotum, vagina, clitoris, pubic hair.

Butts are okay to show as long as the depiction is not gratuitous.  Please avoid showing the actual rectum.

Breasts may be shown as long as they do not have nipples.  Nipples may be shown as long as they are not on breasts.  Showing breasts with nipples is forbidden.  The exception to this rule is mothers engaged in breast-feeding.

Sexual acts are permissible, provided they follow the above criteria.  Anything explicit must be done off-screen.  I would also ask that except where it is absolutely vital to the plot, sexual acts be restricted to married couples.

No homosexuality.  This is not negotiable, nor will I explain it, as plenty of explanation exists elsewhere if you're really interested in knowing why.  Hermaphrodites, however, are okay.

Nothing illegal in the real world is permitted here.  No child sex, no rape, no incest, no bestiality.  (Bestiality is defines as sex involving one person (sentient) and one beast (non-sentient.)  A sexual relationship between two beasts or two married people of different species is okay.  

Rules for text or audio stories follow the same guidelines.

Anyone caught producing pornography or erotica except for their own private use will be dismissed and banned from Pandora.  This includes not only works on Pandora, but anywhere.

Violence/gore:

Cartoon violence is okay, but please try to avoid imitatable acts of violence where possible.

No vore.  This is not a decency rule, it is a request from me.  This includes hemovorism.

No graphic dismemberment or excessive bleeding, please.  What qualifies as excessive will be decided on a case-by-case basis.  punishment will only ocurr after multiple infractions.

Excessive use of bodily wastes (urine, feces, vomitus) is discouraged.  Please use them only when necessary.  Sexual fluids are forbidden.

Language:

Please excuse the following swear words.  They are listed here only for the sake of clarification.

Forbidden words: shit, fuck, tit, cunt

Words acceptable in their poper, non-vulgar usage: Cock, dick, beaver, bush, hell, pecker, damn

Discouraged but permissible words: Ass, piss, crap

Racial slurs are forbidden, including but not limited to: Nigger, honkey, palestine, chink, gook, pinko, etc. etc. etc.

No hate speech.  It is okay to label an act as wrong, but leave the people alone.  (For example, you can say gay sex is wrong, but saying "shoot a fag" will get you banned.)

Blasphemy is forbidden.  Blasphemy is defined as either using any name or title of God as a swear word (i.e. "Oh my god") or making a slanderous accusation against God.  I personally have no problem if someone wants to do the same to a false deity, but use your judgement.

Limit magic to either stage or fantasy magic.  No black magic is permitted, except by characters clearly defined as villains.  This includes voodoo, witchcraft, wicca, new agism, psychic power (psionic is okay.  There is a big difference.  Ask me if you are not sure), channeling, and anything in this vein.
