Design Proposal for a Monument to a Flame War
Description

"DESIGN PROPOSAL FOR A MONUMENT TO A FLAME WAR"
(2004, ink & gouache)

This monument commemorates the Centaur-Troll Flame War of the early 21st Century; and is dedicated to those brave souls who defended our freedom. It also serves to provide some modicum of documentation for the otherwise nameless, faceless Trolls who sacrificed their lives, their fortunes, and what little dignity and self-respect they might ever have had, in their malicious (and ultimately futile) attempt to sully the honor of our species.

The inscription quotes an apposite Latin proverb; I might make a rough verse translation as follows:

'Tis often said, "The Eagle does not seek
To hawk at little flies";
But should one rush into his yawning beak,
The foolish insect dies.
